Drug Awareness Program by Science Club of Our school
Drug awareness was given to our school students by an awareness program which was conducted by SCHOOL SCIENCE CLUB under the guidance of our correspondent Mr.S.Edwin Abraham.Mr.Arunachalam, Deputy Joint Director,TamilNadu Drug Control Association was the Chief Guest. He gave a special speech to our students regarding the awareness of drug abusing and how to handle the general medicines in our daily life.
FREE MEDICAL CAMP
YMCA Madras Community Centre & Lions Club of Chennai Greater City organized Free Medical Camp on 1st April 2017 at Sathuma Nagar Community Centre. MJF Lion Dr. C. C. Johnny, inaugurated the Free Medical camp conducted for the underprivileged people. More than 230 people benefited through this camp. Testing related to BMI, Blood pressure, Random Blood Sugar, ECG, Eye Check up and General check up was done by Apollo Hospital.
DENTAL CAMP - KOTTIVAKKAM
A Dental Camp was conductedfor our School childrenthrough SHARP (School Health Annual Report program) on 17th August, 2017 in the school premises. It was initiated with dental awareness talk, educating students about common dental ailments, especially stressing on tooth decay and gum diseases and measures to prevent them. The students were highlighted about the eating patterns and food choices which cause tooth decay.
MEDICAL CAMP AND DENGUE AWARENESS PROGRAM
Medical Camp and Dengue awareness programme was organized by YMCA BoysTown Hr. Sec. School and by Chennai Corporation on 6thOctober 2017. The Body checkup was done by doctors. It was sensitized that Dengue fever was caused only by mosquitoes and it can be prevented by using mosquito nets and by draining stagnant water. The students were given NilavembuKudineer to enhance their body immunity.

YMCA Royapettah Branch Conducted Free Mega Eye & Medical Camp on 18th August 2018. Around 150 Patients including Vitals Checking along with the basic Lab Investigation for Diabetic, Hypertension, Dyslipidemia & CHD. Mr.Chandra Kumar gave the General Instructions about the Medical Camp. Dr.Ajay Sudhakar from Apollo Hospital addressed the gathering about the importance of above said Disease, Symptoms, Risk Factors and the Prevention.
FREE MEDICAL CAMP
A Free Medical Camp in Association with Kumaran Hospitals &SankaraNethralaya was organized on 17th August 2019. The chief Guest was Adv.M.J. Martin Kennedy, President, YMCA Madras and he inaugurated the Medical Camp. Mr. Chandra Kumar, Senior social worker from SankaraNethralaya highlighted the benefits from the previous camps conducted by YMCA Madras – Five persons had undergone Retinal operation & 25 persons under went cataract operations, free of cost. Mr. Prabhakaran PRO from Kumaran Hospitals co-ordinated the program. 285 persons attended the camp. Free medicines were given to the patients
FREE MEDICAL CAMP
A Free Mega Medical Camp was organized on 15th August 2019 at T.P. Chathiram. About 160 persons were benefited by this Medical Camp. Dr.Premkumar from Apollo Hospital gave an awareness talk about the Symptoms and Signs of Foot Diabetics. He also shared about diabetes-related foot problems which can be prevented by good control of Blood Sugar levels combined with appropriate care of the foot.

A free medical camp was organized in association with Orthomed Hospital, SankaraNethralaya&MeenakshiAmmal Dental College and Hospital on 4thOctober. About 250 students attended the camp.
AIDS AWARENESS RALLY & STREET PLAY
YMCA Madras – Cultural & Social Activities Committee organised Aids Awareness Rally and Street Play on 30th November 2019 at Elliots Beach, Besant Nagar. The Chief Guest Ms. S.Madhumitha, IAS – Department of Social Welfare and Nutrition Program, Tamil Nadu gave a Special Address about AIDS and exhorted everyoneto support the persons having AIDS as much as possible.
