YMCA Madras Health and Environment Committee & CURI Hospital jointly conducted an awareness webinar on the Topic Covid-19 Vaccination on 5th May 2021 at 11.00 a.m. The programme commenced with an opening prayer by Mr. L. J. I Jayaraj, Chairman, YMCA Esplanade Branch. Mr.B.Ravikumar David, Vice-President for Programmes & Activities, YMCA Madras welcomed the audience who were present for the online programme and also gave a brief History of Madras YMCA.  The Guest Speaker for the programme was Dr. Iyer Renu Kasinath, Clinical Director, CURI Hospital. She gave an insight on Covid Vaccination and further had an interactive Question and Answer session with the participants. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. P. Abraham, Convenor, Health & Environment Committee.

YMCA Madras Health and Environment Committee & Youth Women Empowerment and Gender Justice Committee in association with CURI Hospital organized an awareness webinar on Topic- “Healthy Diet During Pregnancy” on 15th July 2021 at 11.00 a.m. The Webinar commenced with an opening prayer by Mr. Selwyn Devadoss, Esplanade Branch Board’s Representative. Mr. B. Ravikumar David, Vice-President for Programmes & Activities, YMCA Madras welcomed the Participants. The Guest speaker was Dr. Chithira, Food Science & Community Nutrition, CURI Hospital. Mrs.Gayathri Ananthakrishnan, Chairman-Health and Environment committee gave a brief introduction about the YMCA and introduced the Guest Speaker. The Guest speaker briefed the importance of healthy diet, Do’s & Dont’s during pregnancy and further had Question and Answer session with the participants. Mr.P. Abraham, Convenor, Health and Environment committee proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with prayer and Benediction by Mr. Richard Ezekiel, Addl. General Secretary – Finance.

The Guest speaker briefed the importance of Oral Health, Hygiene, Oral Aid and Treatment, further had Question and Answer session with the participants. Mr. P.Abraham, Asst. YMCA Madras Health and Environment Committee organized a webinar on Topic “Healthy Lifestyle for a Healthy Heart” on 13th October 2021 at 11.00 a.m. The Webinar commenced with an opening prayer by Er. M.M Selvakumar, Vice-President, YMCA Madras. Mrs. Gayathri Ananthakrishnan, Chairperson, Health and Environment Committee welcomed the gathering.  The Guest speaker was Dr. Priya Chockalingam, Founder & Clinical Director, Cardiac wellness Institute. Mr. B. Ravikumar David, Vice-President, Programmes & Activities, introduced the Guest speaker. The Guest speaker briefed the various causes for cardio vascular disease and Precaution measures to avoid the heart disease, further had Question and Answer session with the participants. Mr. P. Abraham, Asst. Secretary proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with prayer and Benediction by Mr. L. J. I. Jayaraj, Chairman, YMCA Esplanade Branch.

Free Eye Camp: Date: 11.12.2021; Time: 9.00 a.m. To 1.30 p.m.

Free Eye camp was inaugurated in association with Sankara Nethralaya, Global welfare foundation and Y’s Men Club of Madras Esplanade 1840. The programme began with Thamizh Thai Vaazhthu. Mr. P. Asir Pandian, General Secretary & CEO inaugurated the Medical Camp and lighted the Kuthu Vilaku on this occasion. An Initiative of Green Environment tree saplings was presented to the delegates.  Around 157 people were screened during the eye camp. 35 people were selected by Sankara Nethralaya for free cataract surgery and further treatment.
