JUNIOR OPEN TENNIS TOURNAMENT

YMCA Kilpauk branch organized Junior Open tennis tournament from 15th to 22th October, 2016. The finals were held on 22nd October 2016. 

May 2nd to 31st organized by YMCA Kottivakkam

The aim of the summer camp is to Harness and develop all young cricketers, so they have the opportunity to contribute to the game of cricket at all levels, through the YMCA. Around 10 children & adults enrolled in these camp held during May 2nd to 31st organized by YMCA Kottivakkam. Mr.Thiyagarajan from bownser cricket academy was the head coach and Mr.Hari assisted him. We conducted two sessions every day, one hour in the morning & evening. Participants were taught basic exercise, strengthening and basic cricket knowledge with technical skills in all areas.

STATE LEVEL BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT 16TH - 23RD SEPTEMBER, 2017

YMCA Royapuram branch in association with North Madras Basketball Club &Royapuram Youngsters Basketball Club organized “State Level Basketball Tournament” from 16th – 23rd September,2017 at the Robinson Park playground, Royapuram. The Finals & Prize Distribution function was held on 28th October, 2017. The tournament commenced with Tamil Thai Vazthu. Thiru.S.Saravanan, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai Police was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the tournament. 44 men teams & 11 women teams participated. YMCA Board of Directors and Officials from various basketball clubs were the Chief Guests for the different matches. YMCA Members and many others enjoyed watching the game. Mr.Aadhav Arjuna, Secretary, Tamil Nadu Basketball Association and Founder, Arise Foundation was the Chief Guest for the final and distributed the prizes for winners.  The tournament came to an end with National Anthem.

STATE LEVEL INVITATION BALL BADMINTON TOURNAMENT

The YMCA Madras Physical Activities Committee conducted the State Level Invitation Ball Badminton Tournament on 22nd April 2017, at Royapettah branch. The Inaugural address was given by Dr. Vincent George, President of YMCA Madras and he inaugurated the new court. Around 12 teams were participated in the tournament. This tournament is approved by Tamil Nadu Ball Badminton Association and Chennai District Ball Badminton Association. The Chief Referee was Mr. Giridharan. Mr. V. Ezhilarasan, Hon. General Secretary of TNBBA offered felicitation.The Chief guest was Padma Shri V. Bhaskaran, 1980, Hockey – Olympic Gold Medalist addressed the gathering and distributed the prizes.

INTER SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT

The YMCA Royapettah Branch conducted an INTER SCHOOL VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT for Boys under 19 on 3rd & 4th August 2018 at YMCA Royapettah. Around 24 Schools were participated in the tournament. The finals and Prize distribution function was held on 4th August 2018. The programme came to an end with National Anthem.

Venue: YMCA Royapettah

Inauguration: ByMr.Mohammed Riyaz, Hockey – Arjuna Awardee & Olympian

Finals and Prize Distribution:  Chief Guest Dr.M.Ravi, IPS, Additional Director General of Police.

The Prize winners were Men:1.SRMUniversity. 2. St.Joseph’sCollege of Engineering. 3.PanimalarCollege of Engineering. 4. Sathyabama University. Women: 1.SRM University. 2.HindustanCollege. 3. St.Joseph’s college of Engineering. 4. PanimalarCollege of Engineering

SOUTH ZONE MEN'S HOCKEY TOURNAMENT

Venue: Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Egmore.

Finals and Prize Distribution:  Chief Guest was PadmasreeMr. V. Baskaran, Hockey Olypmpian& Arjuna Awardee

Winner: DYES – Bangalore

Runners-up:INCOME TAX, Chennai.
