YMCA Madras Physical Activities Committee

YMCA Madras Physical Activities Committee and Chennai District Sports Karate Do Association organized Chennai District Schools Karate Championship held on 19th December 2015at YMCA Vepery.  There were around 250 Children from various Schools and different Karate Clubs who participated in this Tournament.  Another Special Chief Guest who attended this Program was Mr. Karate R.Thiyagarajan, President, Karate Association of India

TABLE TENNIS SUMMER COACHING CAMP

Summer Coaching Camp for Table Tennis 2015 was held from 1st May 2015 to 31st May 2015.  More than 15 trainees attended the Coaching Camp. Mr. John Bosco was the Coach.

 

OPEN CARROM TOURNAMENT 2015

The Annual Open Carrom Tournament was conducted by YMCA Esplanade on 18/09/2015

SUMMER CAMP FOR UNI – Y STUDENTS AT YELLAGIRI HILLS ON25th& 26th APRIL 2015

YMCA Royapettah organized a summer camp for students from 25th to 26th April 2015 at Yellagiri Hills YMCA Camp site.   The Members enjoyed trekking, boating and Visiting Natural Park.  After dinner a Camp Fire was organized.

 

SUMMER CAMP

YMCA Vepery Branch, conducted summer camp coaching from 1stApril to 30thMay 2015. The activities like Swimming, Shuttle, Table Tennis, Karate and Chess. There was good response from all the members.

TABLE TENNIS

The camp was conducted on all days (except Sunday) in the month of May.  The camp was conducted by Mr. M.S. Ashok Kumar former Indian Table Tennis Coach.  

SHUTTLE

The camp was conducted on all days (except Sunday) in the month of May.  Mr. Bharath Kumar, State Player of Tamil Nadu, was the Coach. In order to encourage the players, an In-House Shuttle Tournament was conducted during the end of the camp on 28th May, 2015 Physical fitness was also taken care during the camp.

INTER CLUBS TENNIS TOURNAMENT

YMCA Kilpauk branch organized an Inter club tennis tournament for Chennai city Tennis Clubs from 11th April to 24th April, 2015. They were 35 teams from different clubs who participated in this tournament. 

INTER YMCA MEMBERS SHUTTLE BADMINTON TOURNAMENT FOR ARJUN MEMORIAL TROPHY

Inter YMCA Badminton Tournament – YMCA Kilpauk organized the Tournament from 26th to 29th August 2015 in the categories of Men’s Singles, Doubles A, Doubles B, Veterans Doubles and Under 15 singles. Members from different Branches participated and the final was held on 29th August 2015. Mr. Justice P.N Prakash Judge, High Court Madras, was the Chief Guest. 

SHUTTLE TOURNAMENT

YMCA Kodambakkam Branch organized a Shuttle Tournament for Branch members from 24th to 26th September 2015. 

TABLE TENNIS TOURNAMENT

YMCA Kodambakkam Branch organized a Table Tennis Tournament for Branch members on 11th and 13th of August 2015 in the categories of Senior, Junior & Sub Junior.

SUMMER CAMP

We were organized summer camp for the year 2015 on 15/4/2015 to 14/5/2015. The following games are organized by our branch.

  1. Cricket
  2. Tennis
  3. Volley ball
  4. Badminton
  5. Table tennis

SUMMER COACHING CAMP FOR TABLE TENNIS 2016

Summer Coaching Camp for Table Tennis 2016 was held from 1st May 2016 to 31st May 2016.  More than 12 trainees attended the Coaching Camp which was conducted by Mr.John Bosco, Table Tennis Coach.

SUMMER CAMP ROYAPETTAH

Royapettah YMCA conducted Summer Camp in Cricket, Table Tennis & Karate.  The Summer Camp was held from 2nd May to 31st May 2016. Participating members are as follows; Cricket – 5 members, Table Tennis and Karate – one member each. Regular coaching Table Tennis Students – 16 members and Regular coaching Karate students – 9 members.

SUMMER CAMP YMCA VEPERY BRANCH

YMCA Vepery Branch, conducted summer camp coaching from 1st April to 31stMay 2016. The activities like Swimming, Shuttle, Table Tennis, Karate and Chess. There was good response from all the members.

SHUTTLE

In order to encourage the children, as in-house Shuttle Tournament was conducted during the end of the camp i.e. on 29th May, 2016.  All the children participated in the tournament with lot of enthusiasm.  The parents reported that the shuttle coaching was excellent.

SWIMMING

The Children showed more interest in swimming.  They came happily along with their parents.

TAMILNADU STATE LEVEL INTER SCHOOL KARATE CHAMPIONSHIP On18th AUGUST 2017 AT ROYAPETTAH

The YMCA Madras, Physical Activities Committee organized Tamilnadu State Level Inter School Karate Championship on 18th August 2017 at YMCA Royapettah.  The programme commenced with Tamil Thai Valzthu. ThiruS.N.Seshasai, IPS, Additional Commissioner of Police, Greater Chennai was the Chief Guest and inaugurated the event.  Around 600 entries were received.  Mr.Karate R Thiyagarajan made his presence during the tournament and distributed the prizes to the winners.
