Gandhiji gave a passionate speech in 1895 on the plight of Indians living in South Africa. Where Gandhiji spoke at many places. Particularly, Pachaiyappa’s college,Victoriya Hall, YMCA, Seashore of Triplicane. In 6th April 1919, when Gandhiji in Chennai he got an idea to start a Satyagraha against the Roulette ban and also holding fast, prayer and hartal across the country. In 1938 Madras province was the first to adopt the prohibition scheme.
